Squamish Valley Music Fest Goes Cashless with PDC’s RFID Wristbands

Written by

EDITOR’S NOTE: In 2014, The Squamish Valley Music Festival implemented PDC’s Smart Band® RFID Wristband System for cashless purchasing for food and merchandise. Fans were also able to add photos to their social media accounts using the RFID wristband technology. At this year’s show, the festival went COMPLETELY cashless and fans were also able to purchase items from individual vendor booths in addition to last year’s RFID wristband features.

This year’s lineup features over 70 artists from across the globe, including Mumford and Sons, Drake, Of Monsters and Men, and Sam Smith.

Last year’s festival drew over 105,000 attendees, making it the largest music festival in Western Canada. This year the event is teaming up with Spotify Canada to provide playlists of performers through the festival app, and expanding its usage of RFID enabled wristbands, allowing guests to link their credit cards to their wristbands to pay for food and merchandise. The Squamish Valley Music Festival is actually one of the first music festivals in Canada to become completely cashless. This year’s events will be held at Centennial Fields. There will be four live music stages and four camping locations available within walking distance from the festival grounds.

With a combination of great music, state of the art technology, and beautiful surroundings, this event promises to be a memorable one. For more information visit www.squamishfestival.com.
